The stability of fluorouracil in PVC bags and a glass was studied. Fluorouracil was added to 5£¥ dextrose injection 1L or 0.9£¥ sodium chloride injection 1L in polyvinyl chloride bags and glass. Admixtures were stored at room temperature. The concentration of fluorouracil in the samples was determined by UV-spectroscopy assay at 0.25, 1, 3, 13, 24, 48, 72hours. The value for fluorouracil dissolved in 5£¥ dextrose injection in PVC bags was 43 hours and in 039£¥ sodium chloride injection in PVC bags, 3hrs. The T_(90) value for fluorouracil dissolved in 0.9£¥ sodium chloride injection in glass was 2hrs. As a result, fluorouracil dissolved in 5£¥ dextrose injection in PVC bags was more stable than in 0.9£¥ sodium chloride in PVC bags and glass.
